Two Ways to Order Paper Cores
Last Updated: 08/23/2025

Today we want to show you the two different ways to order tape cores and label cores.

1) Emailing Purchase Orders

2) Online Ordering

1) EMAILING PURCHASE ORDERS

We have been making spiral paper cores in Los Angeles since 1949, which obviously pre-dates the internet. Many of our long-term customers continue to purchase their paper cores by emailing a Purchase Order to orders@spiralpaper.com.

A Purchase Order is a formal yet simple way to place an order with us. It’s usually no longer than one page and contains your company name, address, phone number, email address, Purchase Order (PO) number, order date and a detailed description of what is being ordered. The product details should contain the quantity of each item, the description of the item (inside diameter x length x thickness, and any applicable colors, custom printing, notching, etc.), and the unit price for each item.

By the time a Purchase Order is being prepared, you will have already needed to acquire a custom quote and have the payment terms established. Click here for a custom quote.

When the PO is received, our team processes the order during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm) and emails the order confirmation, letting you know your order has been received and the date it will be ready. All orders are confirmed via email so, if for some reason, you do not receive your order confirmation within a couple of hours, please check your spam folders and/or call us to make sure we received your order. Our phone number is 1-562-801-9705.

Lead times are the time it takes to make your order. We make everything to order and do not keep stock paper cores in our warehouses. Depending on the quantity and size, paper core orders may take 5-10 business days to produce. Shipping, if needed, is in addition to the production lead time. And to help save on shipping costs, will call (pick up) is always available.

2) ONLINE ORDERING

In 2013, in response to requests to make paper cores available faster, we launched our first e-commerce product line:

3″ ID x .125″ Tape Cores and Label Cores.

As mentioned above, orders usually take 5-10 business days to make after we receive the initial Purchase Order. With our online store, orders received before 11am ship via UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day, or UPS Next Day Air (you choose) that day!

Since it is an expedited system, ordering online has a few differences than ordering via email. For example, you may have been ordering with us for a number of years and have an open account, bu when you place an order online, a credit card will be required. A credit card will always be required for online orders.

Three benefits of ordering tape cores and label cores online:

1) Pricing

Smaller orders receive the same low prices as larger orders.

Custom quotes aren’t needed.

2) Lead time

Orders received before 11am ship the same day.

Orders received after 11am (or weekend / holiday), ship the next business day.

3) Convenience

No more preparing a PO, emailing it, waiting for an order confirmation, and no more 5-10 day lead time.
